About Us

My perfectly healthy little boy woke up in terrible pain one October morning in 2005. He was eventually diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (Pseudotumor Cerebri). He went on to develop dysautonomia and narcolepsy. Meanwhile, my oldest child was diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder. Life was hard. I needed something to do that was productive and that reminded me that God can take pieces of our lives and quilt them together into something beautiful. I had been sewing and doing alterations for several years but randomly decided to make a quilt with some precuts I found at a local discount store. I drew a pattern, and not knowing anything about quilting, sewed together this huge king-sized quilt - four-patch with sashing and cornerstones!

It calmed my soul. I was hooked.

A friend of mine turned me onto a popular video tutorial website and I did a block of the month. I learned so much! I quickly started free-motion quilting. In my first-year of quilting, I made over 30 quilt tops of all sizes. Since then, I have made many, many more quilts tops. All those quilt tops started piling up and free-motion quilting on my home machine was just not getting them done quickly enough. I started to look into longarm quilting. When my oldest child grew up and left the home, I knew it was time! I got my longarm - a HandiQuilter Avante. It is not computerized, so I took some time to practice and then practice some more! I spent hours everyday learning to freehand quilt and to care for my machine.

It was even more calming than piecing quilts, and I quickly learned that is what I loved the most - quilting and binding. There is nothing that I find more relaxing.

I decided to start selling fabrics because great quality fabric is so irresistible! Most prints are available in very limited quantities and often only for a short time, however I can get nearly any Moda grunge or Bella solid you desire at super low prices! Just let me know what you want!

Happy sewing!
